So with the wedding a mere 6 months away, I'm ready to start making some stuff happen! I've been doing a lot of research to prepare for my trip to Oregon in April. I'll have about 2 full days to just go bananas with planning. I'm excited to start actually booking things and making decisions! This is going to be my only trip out there until the wedding, so there will be lots to do, and many people to meet with.
One of these things is the cake!
I honestly didn't spent much time looking at cakes when I started planning the wedding. I really don't want anything too extravagant.
For a simple cake that tastes DELICIOUS I have been told that the Beaverton Bakery is the place to go! The website doesn't show much, but I downloaded their wedding cake brochure, and looked at the different flavors they offer. The "Ribbon" sounded the yummiest to me.
"Alternating layers of white and chocolate cake with your choice of chocolate buttercream, white buttercream, swiss mocha, mocha run custard, raspberry, raspberry parfait, strawberry, or strawberry parfait."
Can you say YUM. Although, I will not rule out any of the other cakes. I fully plan on tasting ALL of them when I'm in Oregon. I feel that is the only way I can make an informed decision. And of course, I love cake.
I'm thinking of doing the cake all white, and maybe adding some flower decorations.
I like the hint of blue on this cake, as well as the initial. I can't decide if I want to add blue onto the cake or just make it all white.
OR maybe I could incorporate both and do the whole cake white, and just do a blue initial?
I think the all white cake with the flowers is my favorite though.
I have a feeling the cake tasting just might be one of the highlights of the planning process. It definitely seems to be one of the more fun parts.
Anything involving the consumption of sweets is fine by me.
