Newlywed!

Thursday, September 23, 2010

So I decided to stop blogging about my wedding as the date grew closer and I started making real decisions instead of just looking at options. I wanted my wedding to be a surprise for everyone, after all. But now that the big day is over (is it weird that I wish I could re-live it again?) I want to share everything!
The professional photos by our photographer won't be ready for another 3 weeks, but my wonderful bridesmaids took enough pictures to hold me over until then :)
The wedding turned out more perfect than I could have ever imagined. Everything just came together and made for a truly magical night.

My Uncle, who is the creative director for Geranium Lake Flowers in Portland did all the flowers for our wedding.

Not only did he make gorgeous arrangements, but he also personalized it by creating slips to go over the vases with our monogram on them.

He also did our monogram in flowers on the grass where the ceremony took place.
On our guestbook table I decided to include an engagement pictures of Jacob and I, and pictures of both of our parents at their weddings. Both have been married for 24 years.

As for my cake, I ended up going with a simple 3 tier with our monogram in the middle. My Uncle did the flowers for the cake as well.

And of course THE DRESS. It was almost sad to take it off afterwards knowing that I would never get to wear it again.

My bridesmaid dresses were a mix between Tiffany blue and aqua. My Aunt also made necklaces for each bridesmaid to match the dresses. Here's me with 2 of the 5 ladies.

Here is a picture of the reception hall that was taken from the bridal suite. It's a little blurry, but until I get the professional pictures back that's all I have!

The ceremony:

In the end, all of the hard work was more than worth it. I couldn't be happier with everything, including my new husband :)

UPDATE:
I forgot a picture of the invitations!
