Battle Wounds from the Kitchen

Thursday, March 3, 2011

Thank you all so much for all of the wonderful comments I received on my last post!
Typing is slightly more difficult than usual thanks to a battle wound from last nights dinner...
I got this great recipe for carrot ginger soup from Bethenny Frankel. I don't know about you guys but ever since she got her own T.V. show I've been a huge fan. I think she is hilarious. I've made a few of her recipes before and they are always fantastic and full of FLAVOR! Not to mention healthy.

While shredding the carrots for this yummy soup, I ended up shredding my finger. Ouch. It's the deepest cut I've ever had, and the bloodiest. Luckily my mother assured me that blood adds flavor :)
AND I ended up ruining the soup. The recipe doesn't call for cayenne pepper, but the hubby and I both love some spice. It was definitely a great addition, I just added a bit too much.
Note to self: 1 tsp of cayenne pepper in a soup is wayyyyyy too much.
Other than that it would have been delicious, so I am determined to make it again. Hopefully tomorrow night, and hopefully I won't lose anymore fingers.

  2. Cooking is dangerous, I sliced myself the other day, but your mom is right, a little blood just adds to the mix ;)

  5. I was shredding cheese earlier today and totally thought of you and your finger! If anything, this post made me stop and slow down while I was doing the grating!
