It's About Time!

Oh my goodness, I cannot believe that it's been 2 weeks since my last blog post.
Honestly, I took a bit of a break from blogging because a) it was becoming way too distracting for me, and b) I haven't really felt like there were many blog-worthy things going on in my life.
So I guess this post is going to be a random accumulation of what's been going on these past few weeks.

As I've mentioned before I've been trying to get into the doctor for an appointment so that I could get medical clearance forms filled out for our Italy move. Yesterday was finally the day of my appointment, and I'm in excellent health.
Now I have to sit in front of a military health board where I guess they'll ask me questions and determine if I am medically and mentally fit to live overseas. I don't see there being a problem there, so Italy here we come! Also on the topic of Italy, we picked up my no-fee passport yesterday. Now I just need to get my visa and my regular civilian passport. We are still looking at a mid-May departure date. I am ready to get over there already! We've been waiting for this since November, it's just too much build-up for me!

On another note, I want to give a shout out to one of my best friends, Lindsey, who was sworn into the Army on Wednesday.
She decided to join the Army Reserves in order to pay for nursing school, and I couldn't be more proud of her. After college she had a bit of trouble trying to figure out what she wanted to do with her life (don't we all?), and I'm super excited that she has made a decision and is now making moves toward her future. I also have to admit, I'm pretty thrilled that this is one more thing that she and I will have in common- military life.
I love you girly and I am so excited for you!

Besides practicing my domestic goddessness I've been doing a lot of reading. Last week I read (in like a day) Something Borrowed.
LOVED this book. It's a great easy breezy read. Fun and entertaining. The second I finished it I immediately ordered the sequel, Something Blue. I haven't started it yet but I will soon, and I'm sure it will be just as amazing.

I've been obsessed with interior design blogs lately (I'll share more on that later). I think it's partly because I can't wait to get over to Italy where we'll have a house. Right now our one bedroom apartment is getting quite cramped. Our dining room has turned into a makeshift storage room / my craft room.

I hope everyone has an awesome weekend. We don't really have any plans, but hopefully I can come up with some way to entertain myself.

  1. That book sounds interesting -- I definitely want to check it out!

And I hope all goes well with the board and obtaining proper documentation. :)

  3. Wow I had no idea you had to go to a board to see if you are fit to live overseas!! Good luck, even though I know you'll be fine...it's just more intimidating to me than anything!
