Festa Della Zucca

Blogging has definitely taken a back seat to everything that has been going on lately. Life is busy! I recently started a job at the bank on base, and that has been taking up most of my beloved free time.
Last weekend Jacob and I went to a pumpkin festival in Venzone with some friends of ours.
Venzone is a whimsical looking town that has a medieval feel to it. It's right at the base of the mountains, so the views were gorgeous. The whole time we were there I felt as though I was in some sort of Disney theme park.
Everyone met up at our house so that we could all drive up to Venzone together. While we were waiting for people to arrive, Jacob snapped this picture of the gorgeous view right outside our house.

The drive was beautiful!

Then we finally arrived in Venzone!

The festival consisted of lots of pumpkin inspired food, beer, and some very intricate pumpkin carvings.

My favorite was the pumpkin pizza, DELICIOUS! We also tried the pumpkin gnocchi and pumpkin beer.
The town was beautiful, and we had a wonderful time. If it weren't for the pumpkin festival, we might never have gotten a chance to see Venzone!

There are so many beautiful places to see in Italy, I cannot wait to do more traveling!
Ciao!
