Project Nursery: Crib

Monday, September 23, 2013

Since we live overseas, getting nursery furniture out here can be a pain.
There is an Ikea about an hour away, but that isn't really our style.
Most companies won't ship an item that large out here, so Amazon (our usual go-to) was out of the question.
Luckily I tend to plan a head, because our best option was to order from AAFES.
They wouldn't ship it to us personally, but we could place an order at the BX on base and it would be shipped there for free.
I'd heard rumors that it can take forever for things to arrive through AAFES, so I ordered our stuff way back in July.
I was told it could take anywhere from 3-6 months.

The day we got back from London I received a phone call notifying me that the crib and car seat we had ordered was ready to be picked up!

I would say "we" put the crib together, but in reality Jacob did while I watched and made lunch.

It really is better if I stay out of these sorts of things.

Ordering a crib online made me a little nervous because you have no clue what you are getting until it arrives, but sometimes when you live in another country you don't have much of a choice.

I was pleasantly surprised with both the look and quality of our crib!

Jacob Douglas' room is slowly coming together!
