A morning hike: Castello Di Maniago

Monday, May 12, 2014

It's funny, now that our time here in Italy is winding down, we've finally started to enjoy everything that our little neighborhood has to offer.

The past couple of years we spent all of our free time jetting off on adventures to new places. We were so busy exploring everywhere else that we never took the time to see what our neck of the woods had to offer.
Now that we have a three month old in tow, we prefer our weekend adventures to take place closer to home.

Saturday morning we all woke up bright and early and headed down the street to our favorite cafe for a cappuccino. The town that we live in, Maniago, is located near the Dolomites and is full of breathtaking views.

Up in the hills overlooking the main piazza is the Castello di Maniago. After our stop at the cafe we took off on a little hike up to the castle.

Jacob loves to see everything, so he had a blast hanging out on Dad's chest all morning.

We had a stunning view of Maniago as we hiked up to the castle.

It was nice to enjoy the sunshine and do something active as a family on Saturday.

We have about two months left here in Italy, and I plan on taking advantage of it! Especially everything that is right outside of our own front door.
