Easter egg dying - toddler style

Friday, April 3, 2015

Yesterday I decided to dye Easter eggs with my one year old.

In order to make everything go as smoothly as possible, I decided that this potentially disastrous activity would take place outside.
I got a big piece of cardboard from the garage and set up the dye along with the eggs on top of it.
I  stripped Jacob down to his diaper so I wouldn't have to worry about any stains.

Let me tell you, this got messy fast. I am SO thankful that we were outside.

Jacob didn't really understand that the eggs needed to be left in the dye for a while, or that only 1 egg could fit into a cup at a time. That's ok though, because he still thought it was pretty neat and had a blast. He liked dropping the egg into the cup, fishing it out, and immediately dropping it into another.

Once the eggs were finished he continued on with his fun, because who really needs eggs when you can splash around in cups of colored water anyways?

I originally wasn't going to attempt this Easter tradition with Jacob being so young, but I'm glad that we did!

Happy Easter!
