Fourth of July

Wednesday, July 6, 2016

There's something about a three day weekend that makes it next to impossible to get back into the swing of things. Somehow it's Wednesday and I just cannot get myself back into our normal weekday routine.

Both kids and Jake were still fighting summer colds over the weekend, which was no fun for me. Somehow I'm the only one in our clan that's managed to stay healthy, thank goodness.
Luckily by the 4th everyone was on the road to recovery so we were able to enjoy the holiday like we had planned.

We kicked off Independence day with pancakes (of course) and a parade.
We skipped some of the festivities we had planned on in order to head home and put the kiddos down for naps.
We headed over to my parents house for a big BBQ with visiting family in the afternoon, and learned that Jacob does not like the loud sounds emitted from fireworks.
Perhaps next year.
Luckily sparklers were a hit and a great way to finish off our night.
